Cycling in Ireland

On our "Western Shores" tour you will spend ten days cycling Ireland 's pastoral countryside in the Counties Clare and Galway. Our "Coasting Kerry" explores the celebrated mountains and coasts of the southwest. The two-week "Best of the West" is a cycling tour of all three counties, and the "Yeats Country and Donegal" tour takes you cycling through Ireland 's northernmost coast. Our newest cycling tour of Ireland, "Coasting Cork", traces the southern shore from Bantry Bay to Kinsale. Each of cycling tours of Ireland is guided by two accomplished leaders, including a native Irish cyclist whose cultural insights will add an extra dimension to your Celtic experience.

Our cycling routes in Ireland
Our routes celebrate a land whose fascinating past is ever-present. Cycling through some of Ireland's most spectacular historic sites, from Megalithic tombs to 14th-century castles and abbeys, will fuel your imagination. Stonewalls built a millennium ago criss-cross a landscape famous for its many shades of green. Fuchsia, rhododendron, and foxglove grow wild along the country lanes. Summer temperatures in Ireland are cool and comfortable for cycling.

Each evening we'll enjoy legendary Irish hospitality in a cozy bed-and-breakfast or charming guesthouse. We've arranged for some truly exceptional dining in outstanding restaurants and at our bed-and-breakfasts. You'll feast on fresh salmon, tender rack of lamb, real Irish stew, and homegrown vegetables, not to mention the full Irish breakfasts. Don't be surprised if you return with a fancy for afternoon tea and scones!

For us, the real allure of cycling in Ireland is in its everyday celebrations the smells and chatter of Brigid's kitchen on the remote Aran Islands, dancing the two-handed reel at a local pub, or listening to a storyteller relate the legends of Conor O'Brien and Biddy Early. We think you'll agree!
