BLOGSave on a Fall Foliage Bike Tour in New England's BerkshiresPosted in New England Bike Tours on June 21, 2012 by Jim Goldberg Save on a Fall Foliage Bike Tour in New England's Berkshires![]() Fall in New England is one of those things that you just need to experience by bike in order to truly appreciate the beauty and wonder of the season. Seeing our colorful fall foliage, breathing in the smell of fallen leaves in the crisp fall air, and swooping along perfect biking roads is a thrill for any road cyclist. This year, we're making it a little easier for you to join us for our Autumn in the Berkshires bike tour with a $200/person discount when you book by July 15 (valid only for tours booked between 6/21 and 7/15/12). The Berkshires tour begins in Great Barrington, MA at the Windflower Inn, located on a beautiful ten-acre country setting. After our warmup spin through the surrounding countryside, we get to know each other over wine and hors d'oeuvres around the hearth back at the inn. And that sets the merry mood for our six-day Western Massachusetts foliage tour. Each night finds us in specially-chosen country inns (Devonfield, pictured below, was once home to Queen Wilhemina of the Netherlands!) and dining at renown local restaurants in Great Barrington, Lee, and Lenox. ![]() Our daily bike rides take in bridges and lanes flanked by colorful fall
foliage, bucolic pasture lands, and glorious mountain views. We'll take
breaks along the way for favorite sights and quaint Berkshires villages:
Sheffield's covered bridge and antique shops, Alford's classic town
green, Mill River's classic general store, and Great Barrington’s arty
shops and galleries. ![]() ![]() In addition to cycling past horse farms and vistas shared by the Appalachian Trail, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy short hikes at the Pleasant Valley Audubon Sanctuary, Bartholomew’s Cobble, and the mysterious Ice Glen. ![]() The Berkshires' rich artistic traditions add a unique aspect to our biking tour, and you'll have time to visit the Butler Sculpture Park, Tanglewood (home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Chesterwood, the Norman Rockwell Museum and Hancock Shaker Village. ![]() ![]() From small towns to country roads, the Autumn in the Berkshires bike tour celebrates New England at its finest. Join us for colorful fall foliage and some of the best cycling roads in New England! We have two tour dates which currently have limited availability: September 30 - October 5 and October 7 - 12. ![]() For more information or to watch our Biking in New England video, please visit our New England bike tour page or click on the image below.
