Bike Tours in Ireland - Western Shores

Summer has been flying by quickly for us at Easy Rider Tours! We've just returned from our Western Shores tour in the West of Ireland, one of our easiest cycling-wise and one of our favorites, thanks to the beautiful  scenery, traditional music, and top notch hospitality. We've got one more Western Shores bike tour this season, running from September 8-14, and right now you can save 10% by booking before August 24 (valid for new reservations only, can not be combined with other discounts).

September is a great time to visit Ireland; it's less crowded than the summer months, and the weather is perfect for cycling. Here are a few photos from the bike tour; join us in September and experience the magic of Ireland for yourself.

Cliffs of Moher
"We were looking for an easy bike tour that included country roads and staying in castles...We enjoyed the trip very much. The scenery is spectacular, the food is incredible, and the Irish people are friendlier than anywhere I have ever visited."
"The guides helped us improve our cycling skills and made stretching ourselves entirely enjoyable."
-Dave Jacques, North Carolina

The Cliffs of Moher, a must-see in Ireland, are part of the first day of our Western Shores tour.

Cycling to the Cliffs of Moher

Cooler temperatures and the mist that Ireland is known for make for pleasant, refreshing cycling conditions.

Traditional Irish music in Doolin

Enjoy a night or two of traditional Irish music in Doolin, County Clare.

A two night stay in Clifden, the Capital of Connemara, gives bike tour guests the option of a ride on the scenic Sky Road.

Beaches in the West of Ireland

Pristine beaches, like this one in Cleggan, give us a nice break from cycling.  The water is cold, but we've had a few brave souls take the plunge!

Connemara Sheep

Hearty sheep dot the landscape in the West of Ireland, sometimes creating a traffic jam of their own.

Cycling in Ireland

The Western Shores bike tour features a night on Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. The Irish language is alive and well here, as is a love of traditional music and the craft of Aran sweater-making.

Bike tour guests visit The Aran Islands

The rocky and rugged landscape of Inishmore, along with endless ocean views make visitors feel a million miles from the stresses of everyday life. This is a true getaway!

Inis Mor Rainbow

Rainbows aren't a tour guarantee, but there's a good chance you'll see at least one during your stay in Ireland.

Our Western Shores tour ends with a bike ride to Cong where part of John Ford's The Quiet Man was filmed.

Ashford Castle
Ashford Castle, our last stop on the tour, has been voted the best resort hotel in Europe. Relax like royalty and end the week with new friends with a farewell celebration at this five star hotel.
